Centennial Olympic Park Family Fun Day

Volunteers Andrew and Diedre Agustin
share their experience with others.
On Saturday July 23rd, the Georgia Aquarium participated in Centennial Olympic Park’s Saturday Family Fun Day. The theme of this week’s event was “All About Sports”, so our volunteer divers represented our SCUBA Diving Program.

Volunteer Philip Adams shows off some gear

Volunteers Diedre Agustin, Andrew Agustin, Phillip Adams, Rick Florio, and Charles Evick showed some of our diving equipment to interested children and families, and explained how and why we dive in the aquarium. The volunteers displayed some of our diving equipment such as fins, BCs and regulators, and had fun teaching how each piece of gear is used. Phillip Adams even donned the gear and joined the kids in the Centennial Park fountains! It was a great experience which gave a glimpse into this fun and important behind-the-scenes job at the Georgia Aquarium, and hopefully inspired some to find out for themselves what diving is all about!
